Ireland is in Western Europe. It is on its own island, but east of the island is the United Kingdom and London. It's in the North Western Hemisphere. The Atlantic ocean is south west of Ireland. The Arctic ocean is north of Ireland. That is where Ireland is located.

In Ireland people wear a kilt and a vest with a white shirt under the vest for many holidays. On a normal day they will wear a t-shirt and shorts. To festivals they wear green pants and jackets, a white long sleeve shirt, and a green leprechaun hat.

In Ireland people eat many traditional foods. These foods have been made for many years in Ireland. They eat Apple Jelly, Soda Bread, Boxty, Oat Cakes, Limerick Ham, Champ, Pea and Ham Soup, Irish Coffee, Scones, and much much more.


This is the recipe for Soda Bread
1lb/ 1/2kg/ 4 cups plain flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp sugar (optional)
1pt/ 1/2 lr/ 2 cups buttermilk or sour milkore.

In Ireland they play Rugby, Cycling, Horse Racing, Surfing, Fishing, and Golf. Rugby is Football but they don't wear padding. Cycling is racing bikes. Surfing is riding on a wooden board in the ocean. Fishing is trying to catch fish. Golf is using a club to try to get the ball in the hole in the least shots possible. Horse Racing is horse racing. I have played Rugby, Cycling, Fishing, and Golf.

In Ireland people dance the Polka and tap dance for holidays and sometimes ceremonies. One of the holiday in Ireland is St. Patrick's Day. For the special day people wear green and have Irish festivals celebrating their culture.
In Ireland people traditional music is played with a Bag Pipe. During festivals people listen to Polka and Celtic music which is upbeat. They also play the fiddle , flute, banjo, and the accordion.

1. In Ireland people think the four leaf is lucky. If you find one they believe nothing will go bad.

2. On St. Patrick's people go crazy. It is the biggest holiday in Ireland. Traditionally people in Ireland will have gigantic festivals celebrating the special day.

3. In Ireland it is a custom to have a Shillelagh in every house. A Shillelagh is old Irish weapon made of oak, blackthorn, ash, or holly

Ireland's flag is orange, white, and green. The orange represents British supporters of William of Orange who settled in Ireland it the 17th century. The green represents Roman Catholics of Ireland. The white represents peace between the two groups. That is Ireland's flag.
